Welcome Tyson

I would like to welcome Tyson Pahl to Room 2! We are really lucky to have you in our class and love getting to know you!

Thank you to the rest of room 2 for making Tyson feel welcome and included.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the year with us.

Class poem

Room 2 has been very busy this week.  We also created our own class poem.  Firstly we had a discussion about what a poem is and some of the characteristics, we then made a draft, thirdly the students had to work in groups and had to come up with some ideas.  Finally we came together at the end and took ideas from each group and created our class poem.

We had a lot of fun using our creative thinking.

Here are some photos of the children working together in collaborative groups

Room 2 Treaty

During week one Room 2 has been looking at what it means to have a class treaty and what a treaty actually is.  We then had a big discussion about all the things we need in our own class treaty, things we need to respect and how we behave at school relating to the CARE values.

We wrote all the things down and I print it out for the children.  As a symbol of signing the Treaty we made handprints out of paint and wrote our names in the middle.

We are very proud of the end result!

Gymnastics (PE UNIT)

WALT:  practice four different shapes in gymnastics
We can do this when: we demonstrate the different shapes when asked during a group  activity.

Next step:  Create a sequence of unlike actions incorporating a piece of apparatus and to identify how to use equipment safely.

Here are some photos of room 1 and 2 practicing the four different shapes. See if you can spot yourself kids!

Hi there Room 2 children and parents

Some of the children asked me to share this link with them on our topic - ART ATTACK (murals).

As a class we have to create a art mural for our project and the link below will give the children some ideas of what we can add to our classrooms art work.
